This policy explains how Ahmad Al Shorafa Training Establishment — operator of the YallaEdu platform at www.yallaedu.com and its applications — collects, uses and protects your personal data, in line with Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law No. (24) of 2023.

By using the platform you acknowledge that you have read this policy. Where the law requires your consent, we obtain it explicitly before processing, and you may withdraw it at any time.

2. Data We Collect

a. Data you give us: name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed in a way that cannot be reversed), your university, faculty and department, a profile picture if you add one, and your support messages, ratings and comments.

b. Data created by your use: the courses you open, your progress in each lesson, your enrolment and purchase history, and your sign-in dates.

c. Technical data: device type, operating system, and IP address.

d. What we do not collect:

• We do not store bank card numbers. Payments are processed by Middle East Payment Services (MEPS) inside Jordan, and your card details never pass through us.


• We do not use any third-party tracking or analytics tools on the website — no traffic analytics, no advertising pixels, none.


• We do not collect your location, and we do not access your camera, microphone, contacts or photos, unless you choose to upload a profile picture.


• We never sell, rent or trade your data. Ever.

3. Why We Use Your Data

• To create your account and sign you in.


• To show the courses that belong to your university and department.


• To save your progress and resume playback where you stopped.


• To process purchases and issue receipts.


• To answer your questions and provide support.


• To send notifications about your courses and platform updates — with your consent, and you may turn them off at any time.


• To protect the platform from fraud and abuse.

We do not carry out any automated profiling of your data, and we make no automated decisions about you.

4. Who We Share Data With

We share your data only as far as running the service requires, and only with the following parties:

• Vimeo — to host and stream the video lessons. Processing takes place outside Jordan.


• Middle East Payment Services (MEPS) — to process payments. Processing takes place inside Jordan.


• Our cloud hosting provider, which runs the website servers. Processing may take place outside Jordan.

We may also disclose your data where Jordanian law requires it, or on the order of a competent judicial authority.

Transfers outside Jordan: some of the providers above process data outside the Kingdom. In those cases we verify that the provider offers an appropriate level of protection and is contractually bound to safeguard your data.

5. Retention

• Your account data and course progress: for as long as your account exists.


• Purchase and invoice records: for the period required by Jordanian tax legislation.


• Data of a deleted account: erased within 30 days, except what must be retained by law.

6. Your Rights

Personal Data Protection Law No. (24) of 2023 grants you the following rights:

• Access your data held by us and receive a copy of it.


• Correct it where it is inaccurate or incomplete.


• Delete your data or your entire account.


• Receive your data in a format that lets you transfer it to another provider.


• Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.


• Restrict processing or object to it.


• Object to automated profiling.


• Be notified if a breach affects your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@yallaedu.com from the address registered on your account. We respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the competent authority in the Kingdom if our response does not satisfy you.

7. Deleting Your Account

You may request permanent deletion of your account by emailing info@yallaedu.com from your registered address. Direct in-app deletion will be available when the mobile app launches.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. It covers your personal data, your progress, and your access to purchased content. Data is erased within 30 days, except invoice records we are legally required to keep.

8. Security

We protect your data with measures including encrypted transport, passwords stored hashed in a way that cannot be reversed, administrative access limited to those who need it for their work, and regular backups.

That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is absolutely secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the competent authority as the law requires.

9. Age

The platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors, and if we learn that an account belongs to someone younger we delete the account and its data. If you are a parent and believe your child has created an account, contact us at info@yallaedu.com.

10. Cookies

The website uses cookies necessary to run your session and remember preferences such as your language. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies. You can manage cookies from your browser settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The updated version is published on this page and the last-updated date above is changed. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or within the platform before it takes effect.
